A. Collection of Personal Information You Provide.
When you sign up to use a Service that requires registration, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, e-mail address, postal address, title, organization, etc.). We may combine the information you provide to us with information that we obtain about you through other services or third parties; we do this to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of the Network and the Services. For certain of the Services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information about you.
B. Use of Personal Information.
When an individual provides personal information to NC, NC may use the personal information for its programs, research and networking. The NC may also use personal information for the purpose of sharing information among the allies NC. Through your use of the services of the Network and acceptance of these Terms of Service, you have agreed that the NC may use personal information for the purpose of sharing information within others in the network, who also are committed to the mission of the network and have also agreed to abide by the applicable terms of service. NC will also use information collected on Network transactions and interactions for research purposes for the development or implementation of its programs, products and services. NC will not sell your personal information.
The network reserves the right to disclose all information if (a) required by law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce the applicable Terms of Service, including any investigations of potential violations, (c) resolve any potential disputes or security and/or technical issues, and (d) protect the rights, property and safety of the Network, its users or the public as required or permitted by the law.
The Network will make every effort to discontinue the use of an individual’s personal information as soon as possible if requested by that individual. NC may need to retain information in its archives and records for the aforementioned reasons, however will not identify you individually.
Please contact us if you have any further questions regarding the above mentioned terms about the management and use of personal information.
C. Specific Requirements.
a. NC will take reasonable and appropriate measures to keep Personal Information confidential and in a secure environment, including taking appropriate action in the event of unauthorized disclosure and also include internal reviews of NC’s data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where personal data is stored.
b. Access to Personal Information will be restricted to only those personnel with a legitimate business purpose.
c. NC owns all Personal Information provided to it by individuals and collected in accordance with this Policy.

e. For disclosure of Demographic Information (e.g., organizing local NC events, helping individuals connect offline at professional conferences, etc.), the NC as a minimum will use the "Opt Out" approach. An "opt-out" is obtained when the NC through some correspondence gives an individual the opportunity to decline or "opt-out" of disclosures to third parties. If the individual does not opt out, permission is deemed granted. Depending upon the nature of an activity or project, a higher standard than "opt-out" may be used, such as "opt-in" whereby an individual must affirmatively give consent before information is disclosed.
g. NC sometimes engages third parties to provide certain operational services to NC or on its behalf. NC may disclose Personal Information to those third parties on a “need to know” basis under a written contract.
h. NC uses and allows third parties to use Aggregate Information for research purposes for the development or implementation of its programs, products and services.
i. Consistent with the mission of NC, NC may also share individuals’ personal information with the other members of the Network and with other parties and individuals in the following circumstances
NC has the individual’s consent. NC requires opt-in consent for the sharing of personal information. In this regard, through use of NC and certain related products, services and websites (collectively, the “Services”), an individual agrees that the individual’s information may be shared with others within the Network and with other organizations that are committed to the mission of the Network and that agree to abide as well by the applicable Terms of Service.
NC has a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable government request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Network, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
2. Information Security.
While NC uses its best efforts to maintain this level of security across all of our systems we cannot guarantee or warrant that our systems or our service providers are not vulnerable to viruses, hacking or other security threats.
